Autism and ECT

New postby IrishmanMD on Sat Apr 09, 2011 12:09 pm

My son has Kanner’s autism or what one would call typical autism and mental retardation. He is extremely aggressive. We are on our 56 treatment of ECT with him and the last two instances did not go well. The first issue his heart rate sky rocketed and Valume was administered and the second time He would not stop seizing? Is it the caffeine induced before the seizure or is something going wrong with my child and he cannot communicate it to me. By the way he is non-verbal.
