MEGACISTERNA MAGNA IN POSTERIOR FOSSA

Postby LAURA on Mon Apr 28, 2008 6:03 pm

Dear Sir,
I am 5 wks.post concussion from a m.v. accident.On the ct scan the impression is :
1. The posterior fossa, there is a megacisterna magna versus an arachnoid cyst.
2. No CT evidence of an acute intracranial abnormality.( CT SCAN NO CONTRAST)

I consulted a neurologist today and presented him with my symptoms of dizziness, headaches, vision problems and forgetfulness. He said to continue physical
theraphy and not to worry about the cyst because every one has one.
Do I follow up with a second opinion ? Do I need a MRI ? Or can I trust his findings?

Thank-you in advance for your time,
Laura

Do you have an electronic version of the CT scan that you can attach?
Do you feel your symptoms have improved over the last few days?
How bad was the trauma? Did you lose consciousness?
All the best,
