Bullet in brain

Postby Mandy on Sun Jun 08, 2008 2:14 am

This may be a strange one....is it possible that a bullet in the brain could be missed on a CAT scan of the brain? My husband got "a nick " from a bullet on his scalp whilst in Iraq and had a CAT scan that was normal....he has been acting strangely since he came home and I wonder if the bullet got into his brain after all but was missed on the CT?

Sorry for the weird question!

We have answered your question on our main site. You can find the answer and a picture of what a bullet in the brain actually looks like on a CT scan at http://www.asktheneurologist.com/bullet ... brain.html.

Hope that helps
