dizziness, profuse sweat and gnats

Postby DejahThoris on Fri Oct 17, 2008 1:23 pm

My husband, who is sixty, has been on Aricept for a month for memory and executive function deficits. He has begun having episodes of dizziness with staggering, breaks into a profuse sweat, and complains that 'gnats are flying around' in his left eye. I have not been able to get him to go to the ER when these episodes occur. Because they resolve, and the gnats go away, he does not believe they are serious. Might this be a harbinger of a stroke?

Possibly although other causes are more likely...has he had a CT \ MRI \ EEG?
You should definitely take him to a neurologist to check this out.

let us know how it goes
