Do you have weakness?
Have you been examined by a neurologist?

Has your weight changed recently or does your belt area / waistline get put under pressure (e.g. pants too tight etc).

There is a conditon known as Meralgia parasthetica that may fit your symptoms.

It is usually due to compression of the lateral cutaneous nerve of the thigh where it passes near the pelvic bone where it may get compressed.

This often occurs due to weight gain where belts other clothing presses on the region.

If the pressure is relieved then the nerve usually recovers but it may take time (even months) and the recovery process often is associated with some pain or tingling as the sensory nerve fibers start working again.

The nerve is purely sensory so should not cause muscle weakness or spasms.
