Small vessel disease

Small vessel diseaseI am a 57 y/o female who has been suffering with tightness in my neck which has been radiating pain to my head. Pain started going in the back of my head on the right and has been traveling to different areas. Feels like a dull ache. My rheumatologist sent me for a MRI and it scared me. I have HBP controlled with meds, hypothryoid , and osteoporosis taking meds for all. Also experiencing tingling in my arms. MRI read "Nonspecific bilateral periventricular white matter signal hyperintensities. Differential diagnosis would include mild changes related to small vessel disease or migrain headaches." Never had migraines, but had tension headaches 33 yrs ago for months after giving birth My mom had multi infarct dementia over 23 years ago which was awlful. Dr took 19 vials of blood, which I should get back this week. How nervous should I be? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ann
Re: Small vessel diseaseThanks for your question....have you had a full neurological examination?
If not then this should certainly be done. Please let us know what was or is found when this is done. "...let the patient talk about their headache for at least 5 minutes without interruptions"
