Workout related neurological problems!!

New postby misha.gosis on Wed Jul 14, 2010 9:11 am

Hi,

My name is Misha and I am 21 years old. Two days ago, Monday, July 12, I decided to go to the gym after working as a tennis counselor from 930am - 330pm. During one of the higher weight exercises I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my head and instinctively assumed it was something serious such as a popped blood vessel or an aneurysm. I suddenly panicked and felt faint so I rushed over to the water fountain. I then stepped outside for 10 minutes, slowed my heart beat, and finished my workout.

For the rest of the day I felt tunnel vision-like symptoms. I was not able to focus on more than one thing at a time and had a difficult time gathering my thoughts. I took a nap that evening and seemingly felt better upon waking up.

The next day at work, I felt relatively good but had a constant fear of snapping back into the tunnel vision state. Given the nature of the human body and negative thoughts, of course, I fall back into that state. After filling my head with positive thoughts, I eventually snapped out of it. However, for the rest of the day I had a continuous feeling that I am going crazy. I kept thinking that normal people do NOT get constant thoughts of going crazy and i should NOT be worrying about this. These thoughts have become so commonplace that I fear something may be seriously wrong.

Do you believe that something is neurologically wrong with me? If so, can it have anything to do with what happened during my work out?

If there is nothing wrong with me, and this is just a phase that can be fixed, please let me know what to do to rid me of these thoughts of insanity.

Thank you,

Misha
