Widespread fasciculations and other sensations

New postby Maumelle_man on Wed Aug 04, 2010 9:51 am

42 y.o Caucasian male, 6', 175, and until recently, active and athletic. About a month ago I had a day or two of flu like symptoms, fatigue, malaise, etc. Went to GP and got antibiotics for a slightly high white cell count. That's about when all the odd things began to happen. Widespread fasciculations, shock like sensations, intermittent numbness on backs of wrists and around right eye, eyelid twitching, shakiness, warm water sensation down back of one leg, humming or buzzing feeling on bottom of foot, roaming chill like feeling on leg(s) and scalp, teeth chattering and now muscle tension and very mild foot pain in one foot that seems better today than yesterday, joints are doing a lot of popping and crackling also. These symptoms come and go all over my body and no one day has been the same as it's constantly changing. The only constants are the widespread fasciculations and the fatigue. Otherwise, all other function is normal. I will not expend any energy that I do not have to and have quit going to the gym altogether. I am wondering when to seek out a neurologist's opinion. I have to go to the GP for the referral so I guess I may start there and run this past him. Any answer pertaining to how long you waited to see the specialist is appreciated.
