What the heck is this?

New postby raisedlefteyebrow on Fri Feb 12, 2010 1:24 pm

Hey. I've been having issues with my head since around August or so. My head's been feeling weird and hurting, although it's not unbearably painful (it feels like there's pressure inside my skull or something) and I've been having something called dysnomia(?) where i feel like I can't think of the words I want to write. I know everyone has that problem from time to time but it's chronic and getting to the point where it's affecting my work. I've never had it until recently. Also I've been having trouble reading, spelling, and thinking clearly which is really uncharacteristic of me. The doctor and my family keep saying it's stress but this all started during summer break when i was out of school and not working, in addition to getting plenty of sleep. The most worrisome episode was in October when I felt like i was unable to feel any emotions for about a month. It coincided with flu-like symptoms that went away with typical flu medicine although i was never diagnosed with the flu. I'm absolutely terrified because i can notice everything getting worse every couple of days or so without any noticable improvement. I haven't had a head injury and I'm not depressed. I don't have any motor symptoms which would suggest a brain tumor or something similar. No history of mental illness either. Plus, my MRI came back as normal. I'm only 16. I don't think I should be having these types of problems at such a young age. please help.
