Vestibular neuritis/vestibular migraine

New postby daveifdjd on Wed Sep 16, 2009 7:43 am

7 months ago I had chronic sinusitis and ear infection, and have suffered from vertigo since. 3 seperate trials of antibiotics early on brought relief for a few days, but symptoms returned. Recently it has progressed into balance problems, falling to left. My left ear has had pain and pressure, and loud ringing sensation similar to locusts. I have been seeing a neurotologist's P.A. who consulted and stated the doc thought I had suffered a viral insult to the ear nervous system. I just had an appointment where the doc decided that migraine was the problem, due to anisocoria, (left pupil dilates), and when asked about my balance problems he quoted their eye movement tests which show my balance is good. I do not doubt that migraine is involved but my ear pain is worsening and I was wondering if migraine can cause unilateral ear pain, or if I still may have an underlying ear problem? Any suggestions or help would be great, thanks
