Vague symptoms, what could it be?

Postby foothills_tiger on Tue Nov 11, 2008 2:13 pm

Hi,

Pasted below are my symptoms. I realize not all of them are neurological in nature, but I'm curious to know if most of them could be attributed to one illness. I've been to see an endocrinologist, and the bloodwork came back normal. I've been referred to a Neurologist, but my appointment is Jan 14 (over 2 months).

A couple of other notes, I'm 37 yrs old, male, weight is about 210. I also have trouble losing weight despite eating well and exercising.

I have been moderately athletic throughout my life. Played football in high school, but I have always felt something was holding me back when it comes to endurance.

Thx in advance

I think that some of your symptoms may be the way the body reacts to anxiety.
Are you receiving any treatment for anxiety?

You may be interested in our page about anxiety and neurology.

You should still go to get examined by the neurologist of course :)

Yes, I have been on Prozac for anxiety and depression. It seems to help. The anxiety and depreesion are manageable. I probably should have mentioned that irratability (according to the wife) is a problem sometimes. It's manageable as well, as long as our lives aren't overcome by events. Also, I've tried Paxil, but it didn't seem to help as much.

Thx!

Also, I should have mentioned this earlier as well. My sister (8 years older than me) has similar symtoms. She has been diagnosed with Lupus. However, my blood work came back normal. Her symptoms started in her mid 30s as well.
