I'm a 36 yo female. I've been having these episodes for about a year and a half now that last for about 10-30 seconds. They begin with a loud whistling sound that sounds like my ear is right next to a boiling tea pot, and then I can feel a great tingling sensation inside my head and lots of pressure and my vision becomes dark and grey, yet still clear. This lasts about 2-5 seconds and then I feel the tingling travel down into my right side and into my arm and at this point my arm becomes numb and trembles. At which point I have no control over my arm. There have been times since this has started that the trembling has traveled down to my leg and I have to lean or sit on an object to keep from falling. During the episode, I am completely aware of my surroundings and can still speak but it is slurred.
I've researched symptoms on numerous medical sites and have found nothing. I have described this to a doctor but he thought it might be caused from low blood sugar so I was tested and all my tests came out negative. So...it's now been a year later and I'm still having the episodes about 4-5 times a month.
Any idea of what is going on inside my head?
