PLEASE HELP...Blastomycosis meningitisI have a family member who was diagnosed with blastomycosis which traveled to her brain and caused swelling of her CNS. She had a splint placed in her brain to relieve pressure and has not "woken up" since then. She has been placed in a nursing home and is breathing on her own but cannot talk, move, and has very little if any cognitive responses. Doctors who have seen her seem to have few answers. The family has really become split over what to do. Some would like to see her feeding tube pulled and left to starve to death. Others still hold onto hope that she will regain some functions. What can be done to stimulate her brain? Are there any indicators as to what her long term prognosis may be? She is only 48 years old and is otherwise healthy. PLEASE HELP
Re: PLEASE HELP...Blastomycosis meningitisThis sort of meningitis is quite rare in people who are perfectly healthy...it is commener in people with an immune deficiency problem...has this question been investigated?
