Permanent Headache

Permanent HeadacheFor the past 12 months I have had a continuous headache sometimes worse than others as well as a continuous pain on my left hand side (in spleen area). The pain can be at the top of my head, then at the back of the head and also on my forehead. I have diffculty sleeping also and even when I sleep I never feel refreshed. I get pins and needles in my feet regularly. This all was triggered after a stressful event that happened to me on holiday. We had been drinking a lot over 7 days and then there was an argument with my wife and after that I did not recover. I have not drank regularly for about 10 years - I might have drank once or twice a year and when doing so would sometime drink too much. I want to know are my problems due to alcohol or due to the event or due to both or neither. I have been to the doctor many times - all my bloods are o.k., had MRI - all ok, had ultrasound scan on the left hand side and endoscope for stomach problems - all o.k. They have said I suffer from Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I am in therapy (CBT) and also counselling and although these can help I feel very low due to the severe physical pains. I have read about anxiety and although I agree with a lot that is said about it I wonder is there no way to reduce these pains. I enjoy my work and cannot afford to give it up. I am physically fit and play football and squash twice/three times a week.
Re: Permanent HeadacheWhat medications do you take regularly....have any medications for headache prevention been tried?
"...let the patient talk about their headache for at least 5 minutes without interruptions"
