Do I need to show this pic to my neurologist?

New postby R72 on Sun May 02, 2010 7:22 pm

Hey there,

I am not after a diagnosis, but I was looking through my MRI and found this image. My neuro did not look at my ax pictures so all I need to know is, is this worth showing my neurologist or is that small 'blobby' thing to the left of the spinal cord(?) a normally occurring 'glitch' in the brain? Excuse my completely medical terminology! :D

Just a simple 'yes show him' or 'no, no need' would be appreciated - of course if you wanted to expand on that it'd be good too

Thank you

OK, so the image didn't come up, but here is the link; http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php? ... ky&thumb=4

Thanks

I think you are referring to the lack of symmetry in the contrast (Gd) ...although not really sure what you are getting at (remember right is on the left in these pics)..
Do you have the radiology report? If so please forward the wording to us.

Hi there,

Sorry, my mistake.

I was referring to the small defined circular white patch to the right - It is very noticeable but is obviously nothing abnormal. :D

The radiologists report was very clear - "normal size and shape of the ventricular system, no evidence of CSF circulation disorder, No focal brain lesions, No diffusion restriction, No space occupying mass or lesion, no evidence of demyelinating disease, No acute or previous bleeding, No infarcation, Normal grey and white matter differentiation, normal major flow voids, normal symmetric orbits, normal aerated paranasal sinuses."

Thank you for taking the time to look - another question answered....moving on.
