My MRI report, have i had a stroke?

New postby zanzoon on Sun Dec 19, 2010 10:42 am

I had a brain tumor 4 years ago (ganglioglioma) in the right temporal lobe, it's who grade 2.
I had a weird thing 2 weeks ago, my mouth was kind of dropped to the left side and stretched down, i had headache and slurred speech,
a week before that i felt all of my muscles getting strongly tightened and i had also slurred speech, don't know this could be a panic attack, but i'm suspecting the mouth drop is a mini-stroke, i really don't know.
i had an MRI last week but I couldn't understand it, and the dr here does not explain anything to me, i'm 23 year old male, experiencing seizures, derealization and studying problems in university.
The following is the report:
Comparison is made to previous examinations, the latest from july 2010 post operative changes within the right middle cranial fossa status post right temporopaietal craniotomy. persistent abnormal enhancement involving the region of the pulvinar on the right side which exhibits faint T1 hyperintense signal on the precontrast image. this focal area is apparently persistant since the initial (pre operative) MRI from December 2006 and is consistent with residual disease without significant interval change from previous. The T1 hyperintense singal is likely explained by calcification of possible hemorrhage. the other area of focal enhancement posterior and inferiorly probably along the fornix on the right side is also identified on the pre operative MRI. no other area of new or abnormal enhancement. the rest of the examination is grossly unremarkable without significant interval change from previous.

please explain if this can explain the facial drop symptom and seizures i'm having, i'm on lamictal. for seizures.
also can you furtherly explain what residual disease is?
thank you VERY MUCH
