just an earache?

just an earache? My wife has had a persistently painful earache for about a week. She saw her PCP yesterday, who saw no wax build-up, no inflammation, and no obvious reason for the pain. He simply gave her an Rx for Cortisporin, and said it should relieve her symptoms. Before her earache began last week, she had a strange headache directly on the back of her head. She said it felt like a bruise, although there was no noticeable mark on the skin, no lump. She said that the pain was sharp and sometimes very painful. It also would change in its size, sometimes painful over a larger area. That seems to have resolved, but now she has this ear pain. She does have a history of a subarachnoid hemorrhage, about 10 years ago. Could the headache and subsequent earache be related? Could either be symptoms of an unruptured aneurysm, or something else?
