Inhibitory Motor Neurons

New postby student12 on Sun Feb 01, 2009 6:48 pm

Do inhibitory motor neurons innervate motor units in skeletal muscle?

My instructor said yes, but I've seen sources that say otherwise. I was just looking for a straight answer from someone who knows exactly what they're talking about.

Lower motor neurons (the ones that connected to the muscles) are only stimulatory; there are no inhibitory lower motor neurons...at least not in humans :)

Hope that helps!
