Gait problems

New postby FeatherMe on Tue Jun 07, 2011 5:52 pm

Two weeks ago I felt as though I was going to fall backward but never actually did. I since find myself unable to walk very far in a straight pattern - some steps to the side, some backward, some turn arounds. I feel my lower back is partially responsible - I do have a lot of pain there. It also feels like my balance is off for some reason. Due to pain in my shoulder I have stopped using the crutches and just use a cane and that has helped me stay on my feet. My PCP says it is part of my autonomic dysfunction. I haven't read about anything like this. I am concerned. Is this part of autonomic dysfunction ? If so, is there anything that can be done to correct it?

We rejoice in our sufferings. Suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us. God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Adapted Romans 5:3-4
