Frustrated In Canada

New postby Jim_In_Canada on Fri Feb 11, 2011 3:46 pm

Hello, I have been experiencing several symptoms common with MS but also with anxiety. I am a 40 year old male and last August I fainted while grocery shopping and the doctors ran several heart tests to insure I was healthy in that regard which I am. I also had a CT-scan & EKG which came back normal. Eventually I started developing several symptoms like an off balance feeling, blurred vision, tingling in hands, face and feet, aches in my sinus area(eye & cheek) and leg cramps. My family doctor prescribed some anti-anxiety medication and believes this to be nothing but anxiety which I never suffered before my fainting episode. I insisted in being referred to a neurologist whom I saw this week and after a brief physical exam believes this to be anxiety as well. I do feel anxiety when my symptoms flare up and I really don't believe it to be caused from anxiety. Trust me, I don't want to diagnosed with something as serious as MS or something else but I feel like I should keep pressing for more testing. Am I wrong or should I ask for a second opinion ? Possibly an MRI will shed some light on a possible and more serious condition or at least put my mind at ease. Meanwhile I just try to ignore the problem hoping to wake up symptom free but so far it's not going away.
