Foot numbness, vertigo, headach, and weight loss

New postby dayna3134 on Sun Oct 25, 2009 3:01 pm

When I was 14 I had gone to a nurologist because I had lost vision in my eyes. The spell scared me when it lasted longer than about 15 mins causing me to go to the school nurse, who thought it was retnal detachment. I eventually made it to a nurologist who told me I had classical migranes, and that it wasn't a big deal. I ended up going back to the nurologist when I was about 17 because I was getting these optical migranes in which the horrible headach lasted for about four days...and I was getting them about 5 times a month, rendering me almost useless. He perscribed me Topamax, which I can't really remember worked or not due to all the side effects, including severe weight loss, inablitity to focus, and forgetfulness. I couldn't physically or mentally focus on ANYTHING... Eventually I abandoned Topamax because it was so stongly affecting my life.

I'm now 22 and have experienced multiple other symptoms. I get dizzy really easily, my ears hurt sometimes with the headachs, my whole foot will go prickly and numb--sometimes with a vein bulging out of my big toe, and in the last year I've lost 35 lbs. In the time between then and now other doctors have told me that I have ovarian cysts (that caused slight weight gain) and acid reflux. I completly changed my diet to disclude MSG and onions after keeping a food diary, and it helps--but just a little. I'm extreemly tired all the time, and sometimes I get the "aura" without a headach, other times I get the headach without the aura and it cripples me for days.

On top of everything else, I recently went for my annual with my OBGYN. I had been having a wierd goopy greenish discharge that I didn't know what to do with. My OBGYN said that my period must have cleaned it up, and changed my pill to try and eliminate more migranes. He also didn't think that blood tests were necessary even though I'd lost 30+ pounds in less than a year without trying. I weigh 124 (in May I was 135) and I'm still dropping weight a little at a time. The green discharge keeps coming back about a week before my period, but clears up before I can do anything about it.

I feel like I need to see a doctor (again) but I don't know what kind of doctor to go to, and I keep wondering if the cysts, migranes, numbness, vertigo, fatigue, green discharge, and weight loss are all somehow connected. Thats why I'm here, I'm searching for some kind of answer. Do I need to go back to a doctor? Or will they just all tell me the same thing: That I have classical migranes, acid reflux, and ovarian cycsts that all just need to be controled seperatly?
