Foot Drop
First unread post • 1 post • Page 1 of 1
Foot DropI have bilateral foot drop. No one has investigated as to why but the three foot surgeries in the same place were not helpful. A podiatrist I saw said mechanically my foot that was operated on cannot be flat on the floor due to the angle the big toe was fused at as well as the next two toes and that the foot drop was not considered. My other foot is now starting the same symptoms that caused me to have the operation on the other foot in the first place. He is contacting my new physiatrist on the case. I have been told I have and I don't have polyneuropathy. I do have a great deal of weakness in both legs. The pain and crutches are getting to me, I have been swimming most every day as I was told I have pre diabetes and need to exercise, but the exercise has to be off my feet. What can cause foot drop - anything that I have mentioned? I have had it for years and used to stumble and fall before I started using the crutches full time four years ago.The pain is too severe to go barefoot or walk without crutches. I have a power chair I use in the house. Am working on getting a ramp built and looking for a vehicle I can use the chair with.I am tired and in need of relief. I don't want to be housebound. Is there any help for me?
We rejoice in our sufferings. Suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us. God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Adapted Romans 5:3-4
