Facial numbness, (prev. diag. dysautonomia, addisons disease

New postby spauldhr on Thu Jan 22, 2009 6:19 am

Hello,

I am a 26 year old woman, I have previously been diagnosed with dysautonomia, addison's disease, ehlers-danlos syndrome and I had to have a spinal fusion done five years ago due to having four herniated discs (T6 - T10).

I am not currently treating the dysautonomia or addison's disease regularly. I occasionally take Florinef, when my blood pressure drops very low, but outside of that I dislike taking medication and try to avoid it if possible.

The problem I am having right now is that my face is numb. This has never happened before. I have little to no feeling under my eye, on the side of my nose and above my eye on the right side of my face. This began after having a three day headache. I also have been experiencing trouble swallowing and had some trouble finding words. This I have had before. I went to the emergency room, because of the new facial numbness symptom and they told me it was migraine aura. It has been one week now and the numbness has increased, and spread to my ear. I also now have pain in my neck, near my throat, it is sore to touch and move my head.

When at the hospital, they did an MRI and said everything looked alright.

I am not sure if I should keep pursuing this or just wait for a while. I have no idea what it could be. I would appreciate some direction, and also if you could tell me what you think the severity is.

Thank you very much,
