EMG results - B-12 deficiency and subacute degeneration of

New postby kelcms on Fri Dec 04, 2009 10:45 am

2 years ago i was given 2 EMG test to try to diagnose my symptoms as myasthenia gravis was suspected. The results were inconclusive- the first time the results indicated mild MG, the second time (1 mth later) the results were mixed- the algorithm confirmed a diagnosis of MG , however, the graphs did not. No treatment was pursued- i was told to try to exercise and get stronger. I have now been having lots of back, pelvic, general muscle pain and weakness, numbness etc and have recently been told that I have a B-12 and Vitamin D deficiency. I am undergoing PT to build my back and pelvic floor muscles - the thinking being that the injures were due to a recent multplie pregnancy. My question is- could the earlier EMG results have been indicative of sub acute spinal cord degeneration? No b-12 panel was run at the time. This is the first time this particular lab was run. I still have no explanation for the B-12 and Vitamin D deficiencies.

Is there any correlation and should I be pursuing this further??
