Any drug that stops epileptic activity (such as diazepam / valium) will make it less likely for epileptic spikes to appear during an EEG. Caffeine does not really have an affect other than to stop you falling asleep (in some cases a sleep EEG is important). In addition, diazepam can cause an increase in "beta rhythm" on the EEG, although this is not usually a problem to spot. High doses of diazepam that cause confusion may lead to more significant EEG chanhes. Hope that helps MG Show your appreciation and support our forum by giving a donation.
