Hi,
My name is Joy and my husband, Adam who is 22 years old has been having a hard time(passing out, constant dizziness every day) for the past year and a half. He does pass out when getting blood taken or iv's, but that runs in the family and has happened since he was little. But about a year an a half ago he starting feeling constantly dizzy and even passing out completly a few times. The things that trigger passing out can range, and are usally- Stores( he usally can only be in a store for a short time before having to get air, the smells(the cleaners ect.) and the lighting make his dizzeness much worse. Driving on a sunny day where it goes through the tress makes him worse. As does eating and going to the bathroom. He has seen 3 neurologist, 2 cardiologist, a few other speciliast( ENT, Infecious disease ect.) and finally just this past winter one of the neurologist , told him it he thought it sounded like dysautonomia. He is referring him to a neurology specialist in the city but he cannot get in for months. In the mean time he is on mestinon which does help the dizzness some, where he can now drive, but there are still many days, more than not, that he is so dizzy that it interfers with daily life. Like I said he is seeing a specailist in the middle of May, but I am just wondering if you have any suggestions on what we can do in the mean time, and what the general overview is for this disorder- treatments ect. Also I have been reading that doing exercise, walking ect. and massage therapy could help some and was wondering if that was true. Also if reducing sugar and increasing salt and fluid intake would help as well. Thank you so much. Sorry so long, as I am sure you know these stories are always a book. Thanks again!
