diagnosed with idiopathic sensory small fiber neuropathy and

New postby Haruka on Sat Mar 19, 2011 8:32 am

I've been diagnosed with idiopathic sensory small fiber neuropathy, and I am currently taking medicine for it. As long as I take my medicine, I am not in pain. The kind of things that seem to irritate my skin are clothes that are too tight, kind of like spandex. Seams bother me, especially when I'm sleeping, but as long as I cover them up I'm fine. My condition seems a lot like fibromyalgia , but not as bad. So I'm wondering with my condition, do you think I can get breast augmentation and a lift.

I also have SFN but have not been given any medications. I am frustrated as I read they can slow the progression when caught early. Mine has gone from my feet and legs, to my hands and arms, and now to my head, neck and upper chest. It was dx with two skin punch biopsies when I had it just in the feet!

I have not done well with surgery on my foot. I have had a breast lump removed since this dx and did fine. i guess it depends on how much pain you're willing to tolerate to have an elective surgery.

Could you email me? It's in my profile. Thanks.

There is no specific reason why not. Although you will need to speak to your treating dr.
What meds are you on?
