copper deficiency myelopathy, loss of lordosis

New postby seran on Sun Apr 03, 2011 5:48 pm

hi everyone,

ive been ill for 6 years, its taken that long to get to see a Neurologist.

Most days i dont have the energy to move, every muscle in my body feels like ive run a marathon, my joints burn and creak with every movement,
my feet hurt just with normal walking, i have PN, vertigo, ataxia, tinnitus, blurry right eye, GERD, pale skin and red blotches, alodynia.

Constant back pain from top to bottom, i only leave the house for hospital and doctor appointments, the sun hurts my eyes and skin, i have become intolerant to many foods, my doctor has run all the normal bloods, always come back normal, im sure he thought i must be making all this up until i began to have memory problems, phantom smells, hemiplegic type seizures, only then was i sent to a Neurologist.

MRI showed real signal midline posterior cervical chord signal changes suggestive of b12 or copper deficiency.

My Neuro wants me to go into hospital for a week for tests, she admitted that this is the first case she has seen and was not sure how to treat me, also my spine is completely straight with just a slight lumber curve.

I would like to know how rare copper deficiency myelopathy is and what treatment is given, and if the neuro problems got better.

I walk with a stick and generally need someone's arm to hold as i cant seem to walk in a straight line, i also trip and fall quite frequently,

thanks, seran
