Coordination problem

New postby heej2010 on Wed May 19, 2010 11:17 am

Hello. I'm a 42 year old female who is very active. I studied dance for many years but quit in my 20's and wasn't active for several years. Since my late 30's I've tried to go back to take dance classes, but I find that when I am dancing I occasionally lose all coordination during a combination for a second or two. My arms and legs literally freeze in mid movement and it takes me a few seconds to get control back. There have been times I've almost fallen to the ground in a heap. It also feels like a firework has gone off in my head. I don't know how else to describe it. It's like a momentary burst of electricity in my brain. I've not taken any medications, drink only occasionally, and don't use drugs, though I did use some recreationally during college, but never heavily. I did have a history of seizures as a small child, but as I said before, I grew up dancing and never had this trouble until recently. I've tried breathing, drinking plenty of water, but nothing helps. It's very frightening and makes getting through a class difficult. I've also notice it during aerobics or any activity requiring complex coordination. Any thoughts?
