Consumption of Pork Brains

New postby WilliamP on Tue Sep 14, 2010 10:01 am

Stay with me on this:
I am curious, we obviously are closely related to swine at some level since pigs are used to generate hormones for human medicine if I am not mistaken.

Also I have read that cannibals eating human brain developed Kuru or some other TSE, due to prions. Also I read where workers in a meat plant developed neurological issues as a result of breathing in pork brain which they were blowing out using compressed air.

Given these facts, it seems logical to me that the possibility of developing some form of dementia or perhaps neuropathy could potentially be linked to consumption of pork brains. Do you know of any study showing such?

Also in the cannibals was in delay in consumption and signs of dementia observed?

Thanks
