Constant numbness/excruciating pain in right thigh..

New postby pwilkerson318 on Mon Apr 04, 2011 12:01 pm

About 4 years ago, I was in a single car accident and suffered two compression fractures in my lumbar.. When at the hospital, the staff did an amazing job of treating me, but they gave me an IM injection in the right thigh of some kind of pain med (can't recall what it was). Immediately, I felt a numbness begin to spread from the injection site that covered most of the top and side of my right thigh. It stayed completely numb for about a year (dead like). After about a year, it began feel numb with a burning sensation at the same time, all the time. Any time something touches, sometimes as light of a touch as putting my pants on, i have excruciating pain and the area is slowly getting larger..

I am assuming this is some kind of nerve damage but I really have no idea, and I really don't know what I should do about it.. Is there any way to make it go away? Any kind of therapy for it? It hurts so freaking bad! Please help!
