Cervical lymphadenopathy

New postby Greco on Fri Jun 27, 2008 8:09 am

Cervical lymphadenopathy Diagnosed during a dental exam in 1988. Currently have multiple cervical problems to include herniations, degenerative disc disease, narrowing spine canals, on and on. Is it possible that this diagnosis in 1988 is the onset of the problems? The difference is that at that time I was in the military In the Airborne Infantry. I also had surgery to my right shoulder in 1973 and continous problems with the shoulder since than.repeated tramua also to the shoulder. Is it possible that my current neurological problems relate back to these conditions?

Please describe what neurological symptoms you have today.

What was the cause of the lymphadenopathy if it was known?

The condition of cervical lymphadenopathy was discovered along with an abcessed tooth during a dental visit. At that time pain was radiating up the face to the head. I had a neck injury in the military in 1973, however due to their policies, I not seen by a doctor, but only by a corpsman, who wrote it off as a strained muscle, without x-ray evidence. Then from 1976 to 1978 had numerous shoulder problems, while jumping out of an airplane. In 1978 had surgery to fix the shoulder, however had continued dislocations. Much of the pain was contained during these years, as I just took aspirin and moltrin belieing everything to be arthiritis. After discharge continued to have bouts with the shoulder, and the neck which the doctor wrote off as a pinched nerve. OK present day. Jan 2005 had a injury to lower back at work, finally seeing a doctor in 2006. The MRI showed a cyst on the nerve, herniated S1, L5, not worried as this injury is covered at work. Then the neurologist sent me to get an xray and MRI of the shoulder and the cervical. The shoulder showed a cyst on the humeral head, bursitis and ostephtyes. This same shoulder had a septic infection in 1999. The cervical showed herniated and bulging disc at the C5C6 and C2C3, narrowing of the forminal canal, spinal stenosis. Anyways all of these problems developed overnight, although I know that is not possible. The question is whether the etilogy of the cervical could have been related back to the injuries in the 1970s, masked by the contious pain in the shoulder all these years? I have recieved mixed opinions on the matter.

I am sorry to ask this again but it is not clear what you mean by "current neurological problems" as cervical lymphadenopathy is not considered by doctors to be a neurological problem.

In other words, please tell us what symptoms you are asking about i.e. what are you feeling today that bothers you?

thanks
