Can Concussions Cause My Memory Loss

New postby josjbp28 on Mon Nov 14, 2011 9:14 pm

I am 33 yr old male, when I was 17 I was in a severe car-pedestrian accident, when I was a pedestrian and I was hit by a car and thrown 65 ft. Among other injuries I suffered a severe concussion, and i did loss consciousness, and I would come in and out of it. Once in the hospital I could not stand up w/o wanting to faint or vomit for several days. I suffered another concussion several months later in a car accident. Ever since I have been having memory problems, which I did not have previously. Before concussions I did not have such memory problems as I will describe. For example, in college when studying I could not recall what just read, I would forget the material even when I went over it many times. Anther example, I am in grad school I had a test tonight and I made a study sheet of material, but I could not get the material to stay in my head, during the test I could not recall much. I just can't recall things I just read or did. I forget many things that normally a person should not forget. Could this memory loss be connected to the head injuries I suffered when I was younger?

Thank You for Your Time,
Joe
