Bizarre childhood episodes

New postby swankyhaze on Wed Jun 29, 2011 11:04 am

Hi,

I am trying to figure out what might be going on with my son. Once a month, sometimes less frequently, he will come to me crying saying his hearing is amplified (everything is so loud mom), everything seems to be moving in fast motion. He whispers and holds his ears, and asks me to be quiet. He can communicate with me but he cringes mostly because he feels like i am going 100 miles an hour and screaming at him. He doesnt appear dizzy or unable to walk. He is scared to death. It is very disturbing, lasts about 5 minutes. Nothing seems to be a trigger, and nothing we do seems to make it better or worse. He has been to an ENT had his tubes removed (3yrs ago), they checked him said he was fine. I thought maybe vertigo or soemthing. Any ideas where I should start? He is an otherwise healthy 11 yr old boy who eats well, sleeps well, exercises, is very bright and has no other health issues.

Thank you for any direction.
