Hello
I'm not to sure if i'm doing this right but I'm a 20 year old female (underweight 5'7, 105pounds - was down to 93pounds at the beginning of all of this) i've been having some very strange symptoms for the last 3 months. My first symptom occurred just over 3 months ago when my right foot had fallen asleep in bed and there was a really weak sensation. Following that, like a week later or so, my right hand started tingling. It would come and go throughout the day. Next a couple days later my right hand stopped tingling and my left hand tingled continuosly. (this all began when i was right in the middle of final exams - im in my 3rd year of university studying neuroscience and biology). I made the mistake of googling my symptoms and of course MS was the first thing that popped up. Following my left hand tingling i had a whole list of other symptoms, they include;
-twitching all over
-tingling/burning/prickling all over
-muscle cramps (particularly in the legs and arms)
- weird weak sensation in arms and legs (like i would feel like i couldn't walk or couldn't lift up a cup - but i always could)
- balance problems
- felt like my right foot would drag (but never did, just it felt like i had to think about lifting it up everytime i take a step)
-burning eyes and occasional blurry vision
-stiff neck
-get tingling when exposed to heat (like today I was in the shower and wanted to turn it hotter to see what would happen and my hands and feet went a bit tingly and throbbing)
- hands and feet fall asleep very easily
-very depressed and sad about this whole thing (cry all the time)
I've seen many doctors. I had 7 sets of blood work. All normal except for a b12 deficency (number was 169). Had a nerve conduction test - normal. Had and eye exam and visual field test - normal. Had an MRI of brain - normal. Saw a neurologist who did an exam and said everything looked fine (he said it could be the start of something but he didn't think it was. He said i was just experiencing normal life). My family doctor said i had developed heat intolerance but he also said thats just life (this symptom is really scaring me because i know it's related to MS). He said to gain some more weight and thinks i may be experiencing anxiety (but this heat intolerance isn't related to anxiety is it?) After being on b12 supplements for 3 months, my level is now at 420, yet i'm still having symptoms.
Sorry to ramble on it's just i've been extremely depressed about this and everyday because i cannot get MS out of my head. I google everytime i'm on the computer and it makes me very depressed. I'm constantly checking my reflexes, babinski's reflex, balance and strength (basically everything the neurologist checked). And everytime i start to feel a little better i have some tingling or this heat thing and i sink back into depression. Do you have any advice?? Does this sound like MS or Anxiety or something else perhaps?? Thanks a lot for your time!
