Another MRI??

New postby lupe68 on Sun Jul 18, 2010 10:47 am

My primary concern is that I was experiencing dizziness for about a month, constantly. Had a VNG test that showed some brain abnormality. Just had an MRI that showed "several patches of possible abnormal T2 signal at the cervicomedullary junction", suggested having a Cervical MRI. My primary dr said the results are nothing to worry about, not related to the dizziness, don't worry about doing another MRI since the dizziness has stopped, and I probably had a virus that caused the dizziness.

I'm a fairly healthy 41 yr old female. Take thyroid medication, had all kinds of blood tests, all were normal. About the time I had the dizziness start, I also had some severe stomach pain, lasting a few days. Thought it was from uterine fibroids, although follow up tests show they are still very small. Thought it could be appendicitis or gall stones.. but then the pain stopped when I started menstruating. The same thing happened a few months ago, although only lasted about a day. The dizziness also happened in the past, not at the same time as the stomach pain, and didn't last long at all.

I'm concerned, because I don't feel ok. I'm fatigued all the time, have been for months and months, and complained to my dr for almost a year. He tried me on anti-depressants, anti-anxiety meds, Vit D. Nothing seems to make a difference. Then the dizziness started and wouldn't go away. Since it's stopped, about 2 wks ago, I'm even more tired. My dr seems to have given up on me. And/or thinks it's all in my mind.

I had an old head injury about 20 yrs ago and wondering if the MRI picked up on scar tissue? I also had a car accident with a bad case of whiplash about 3 yrs ago. Had chiropractic treatment, still in considerable pain a lot of the time.

Several months ago I complained of left side chest pain, heart fluttering. Dr ordered an EKG, which showed some abnormality with a valve. A follow up stress test turned out fine and showed nothing. Mammograms were also fine. Still have occasional pain and fluttering.

Also just had a sleep study, which showed no sleep apnea or anything else. I thought for sure I could have sleep apnea, have all the symptoms.

The worse symptom is dealing with constant fatigue, groggy headedness, just no energy at all. I take supplements for adrenal gland support, but they don't do anything.

I guess I don't even have a specific question, I just want answers. And I want to feel better. And I want to feel like someone is listening to me, because all of these doctors, with all these tests, make me feel like it is just all in my head, and therefore, my fault, and my problem.
