24 hours after having my 4th child via C-section a couple of years ago I lost my short term memory or had amnesia for about 24 hours. After coming out of it I realized my memory had been erased up to 1 week prior to entering the hospital, including the birth of my child. And it took about 2 weeks to remember street names, birthdays, directions.... The neurologist ran a CT and MRI and found nothing. Sent me home the next day and told me my memories would eventually come back but after 2 1/2 years they have not. I saw my family doctor about 6 months later and he checked the hospital records and specifially vitamin B levels but found nothing also. He thinks I may have had a steep drop in blood pressure and that could have been the cause. My memory is fine now, except I have trouble remembering my youngest son's birthdate and some other small things; nothing that disrupts my daily life. Just wanted to see if anyone had an opinion on what happened to me.
