ALS Symptoms and Anxiety

ALS Symptoms and AnxietyI am 23 years old and have been experiencing overall muscle weakness in my right leg and right arm. I have also been having random but frequent muscle twitching that is visible under skin in both arms and my right leg. I have been experiencing difficulty swallowing liquids and have excessive saliva that I am constantly having to spit out. I have felt difficulty breathing as if my chest won't rise when I breathe in only my upper abdomen. I haven't been able to sleep well for months and have to use 4 pillows to prop up or else I feel like I am going to pass out from breathlessness. Also, I have been experiencing stifness in my leg muscles and arms particularly in the mornings. Also, I have found it diffult to write as legibly as before and without exhaustion. Could these be signs of ALS? I have spent the last few months of my life thinking I will die any night. I am taking a ssri for anxiety but still having physical symptoms like the twitching, cramping, fatigue as mentioned. I have had two MRIs with no major findings only nonspecific scattered foci of white matter and have shown no response to babinski's test. Should I get an EMG or am I just panicking over nothing? Please give any advice possible, I want my life back.
Re: ALS Symptoms and AnxietyHaving this disorder means always anticipating disaster, often worrying excessively about health, money, family, or work. Sometimes, though, the source of the worry is hard to pinpoint. Simply the thought of getting through the day provokes anxiety. Excessive anxiety and worry (apprehensive expectation), occurring more days than not for at least 6 months, about a number of events or activities (such as work or school performance) is one of the specific symptoms of this. Treatment may be complicated if people have more than one anxiety disorder or if they suffer from depression, substance abuse, or other co-existing conditions. This is why treatment must be tailored specifically for each individual.

Re: ALS Symptoms and AnxietyHave you had your respiratory function tested? Have you had a full Neuro exam?
