Friedriech's Ataxia?

New postby melby1980 on Wed Feb 11, 2009 8:31 pm

Every once in a while my toe will suddenly go into flexion (just the one toe) and if I try to extend it it just pulls right back into flexion. I looked up the symptom and the only thing that came back was Friedreich's ataxia I was wondering if there is possibly something else besides this condition that could cause the involuntary flexion? I also have numbness in my feet, hammer toes, occasional plantar flexion of the foot causing me to walk on top of it, occasional balance problems, and my legs feel like lead causing me to shuffle my feet. I also become extremely dizzy on occasion and more frequently it feels like I am stepping down when the floor is completely flat (I can't tell you how many times I have twisted my ankles because of this)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am very surprised by this!!
This sounds nothing like Freidrich's ataxia!
