Cold Pain

Postby FeatherMe on Fri Jun 06, 2008 10:10 am

I have experienced on several occasions menthol like pain in my chest and once in my head. It is a cold sensation much like one gets after applying Vicks Vapor Rub. It has lasted a short time and it has lasted for hours. Had it before I napped and had it when I woke up. Is this part of the fact my sensory neuropathy is greater than my motor neuropathy? Does it have any thing to do with neuropathy?

In fact this is a relatively common complaint which is usually unrelated to any neurological problem whatsoever.

If it was due to a neuropathy it would normally not be in the center of the body and would also not come and go in the way you describe,

hope that helps.

I have discovered that I was going through an addiction to lortab and oxycodone and oxycontin. When I got off the 2 "o's", I was not taking the lortab round the clock. My PCP told me I was going through withdrawal. Could the cold pain been part of that?
