Scared, Twitching, back stiffness, need help

New postby DSS90 on Thu Apr 21, 2011 9:57 am

Hello, I am a 21 year old male. Currently, I have been having a wide range of symptoms and it has me really worried. To begin with, I have been grinding my teeth since the age of 9 or 10. I only grind my teeth voluntarily and do not do it at night. Furthermore, I twist my torso/lower back, similar to how I grind my teeth. My lower back and neck is always stiff/rigid. Both of these motions are voluntary and doing them leads to relief. Also, I have experienced muscle twitching since 10 years of age but only once a month or so. Now my muscles twitch regularly every day especially in the thighs and legs. I also am having some difficulty swallowing where in the day my throat is clear but it gets progressively worse throughout the day, where it feels like I have something stuck in my throat. Recently, I have also begun to experience jerky movements at night right before I am about to fall asleep, and these movements wake me up.For example, my arm will involuntarily jerk, waking me up. At the same time I have been experiencing depression/anxiety. I have been to the doctors and done blood tests where everything came back normal. The doctor has referred me to a neurologist to determine what the cause. I am just confused and want to know what I have. I think it is a neurological condition of some sort, and I am 100% it is not anxiety/stress. I believe I may have early-onset Parkinsons, Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington's or some other nervous system disease. It is the lack of certainty that has me worried. I just want a clear diagnosis so I can put my mind to ease. Sorry for the long post, but I really needed to get that off my chest. Please help if you can :(

hello buddy

Im here to help you I'm going to give some info that will shed some light on you problems i hope :D. I'm sad to hear that you went threw this at a young age and then now at 21 you still suffer from twitching. well I'm here to tell you that you are not alone at least i thought i was. my twitching started back when i was 15 after i was playing football and basketball a guy was making a dunk an i tried to block it and when we came down i was elbowed in the head. i went home that night an i felt a small twitch in my left thigh i didn't pay it no mind then months later i felt chest pain itchy skins and all over my body twitching i was like wtf is going on. i was scared to tell someone so i kept it a secret for 6 years until i got sick of it and told my doctor. she ran so many test on me and all the results was negative. they said its nothing they can do now but take a small tissue sample to look at under a microscope to see if there any tissue deceases. thats my last draw. so my best advise to you is watch what you eat or drink because some things can trigger off the brains nervous system and cause twitching. i realize every time i drink tea, coffee, energy drinks or sugar that stuff cause my muscle to twitch all damn day from the eyes to the damn feet. i drink lots off gatorade to hydrate my muscle because if your body is low on electrolyte then you can have twitching also get your vitamin d checked out and your calcium level because that will cause twitching. stop thinking you have deceases by reading stuff online go see your doctor. tell him or her to do MRI cat scans of your brain to make sure theres no tumors on your brain because that can cause twitching. whatever you did could have caused nerve damage to the nerves system now you having electric signals from your brain thats making your body twitch. do some exercise and cut back on the caffeine because that will make the twitching go crazy so slow down on that. don't drink no tea or any product with caffeine in it. take hot baths to slow up the twitches. trust me i been going threw the twitch for 16 years if you have any questions for me email me at DLGivs.dg@gmail.com we can help each other get over this because I'm working on a cure to stop the twitching one day at a time. but try not to think about it just live your life the more you think about the twitching the brain will make your body twitch. take vitamins and don't drink every drinks at all just protein shakes etc.. i hope this help you bcuz i feel you pain
