Hi, I am a 29 yr female with no positive medical history till date. last month I had pain in both my lower legs for which I visited an orthopedic consultant and he did all the tests like ANA, CRP, uric acid levels, CMP and CBC all of which came normal except my WBC which was 12000 (no fever). ESR was 14. I was prescribed a brian MRI which showed about 5 white matter lesions ranging from one which was 8 mm and then the rest between 1-4 mm in size. there was no enhancement of lesions on contrast.they are in the frontal periventricular region. I was referred to a neurologist who got my CSF-(no oligoclonal bands, no myelin Bas. protein), Brain stem evoked potential response and visual evoked potential response which were negative for delayed response. Also I was tested negative for lupus, lyme disease. My MRI spine (cervical and thoracic were negative for any white matter lesions). clinically they said I have no signs of optic neuritis. Also they did my Amylase, CPK and anti native DNA test and all were within normal range or negative. but because the MRI brian shows white matter lesion, my neurologist is a bit speculative if it is MS or not. can you kindly provide your views on the above history.I do not have muscle weekness, l no oss of orientation or balance. my reflexes (knee jerk ) is brisk bilaterally, even after two months, I still have pain in both my legs.
Any kind of opinion from you will be helpful
Minnie
