Vertigo and paresthesias

New postby Mosel on Sun Feb 15, 2009 5:57 pm

Hi,

Lately I have been having motion induced vertigo, clouds moving, water rushing under a bridge, even looking down at the grass while walking. While driving under certain conditions, I lose my sense of self-motion and feel the trees going by me are what are moving, not me. I have tracking problems with an upclose centrally approaching object. My 88 yr old mother recently beat me in ping pong by always hitting the ball straight at me (humor). Also, looking strongly to the right will cause, I guess, a diplopia. The left eye will see everything flat and level while the right eye will see things sloping downwards to the side and to the back. Instant dizziness. Finally, I have the start of DMD. Real wavy vertical lines with the Amsler grid.

Add to the above a nasty case of high pitch ringing tinnitus. I've had it previously on an intermittant basis, but this time it's coming up on a year. Occassionally my ears feel full and to a lesser frequency I get bilateral ear pain.

My last concern is that about three months ago I developed nasty tingling, aching, and some numbness on the soles of both feet. I still have it. My gait is beginning to widen. I avoid putting both feet on the floor due to the lack of sensation. It's unnerving. The top instep area also feels asleep at times with accompanying freezing cold sensations or warmth. Self administered Rhomberg testing does not cause immediate loss of balance if I familiarize myself with my surroundings. If I casually walk in to a room, stop, and try the test. Then I loose balance.

A reply would be greatly appreciated.

Have you had a full neuro exam?
If not then you should certainly go to your doctor to get this done.
