Strange pain on side of Head

New postby ChemoJenny on Wed Apr 16, 2008 10:43 am

Hi and thank you for this opportunity to ask you some questions.

My PMH is complicated but hopefully you will be able to follow without me confusing you. And before all this generally healthy, slightly overwieght.
2/06 Post Partum Hemorrhage with manual d&c
5/06 dx with hodgkins 2a nodualr sclerosis (neck & chest), chemo ABVD from May 06 - Sept 06 Mantle radiation 10/06 - 11/06, compl arrising from this LIJ DVT (port removed 7/06) coumadin started, Neulasta Low Wcount, Also something was given to me for my RBC weekly. IN REMISSION since 9/06.
Dev LIJ DVT 95% blocked - had angio and my vas tried to ballon x6 and it did not work, pnemonitis x4 months, mitral & tri valve regurtitation, SOB all the time, Inc HR, chronic fatigue, feeling of all over blah, muscle weakness & stifness, feeling of jitteryness on the inside and I often feel as the my blood pressure just drops internally feel as tho everything is drained from me, chemo brain hence the name ChemoJenny!

Last year April woke up from a pain in the back of my R eyeball. the following day preceded to have pain and also some r side facial numbness along with a wierd sensation like a glove was covering my face but only on the right side and my eye was doing a wierd twitching thing. but along with that I have had and continued to have this pain on the right side of my head but it just located to my very small area and it always in the same area, the pain can be there from 1 minuete - 20 min and feels like a stabbing pain but it not very hurtfull at all does that make sense? And whenever it comes on I almost always have the eye syptoms with.

Every appt I bring it to my HEm/Onc attention and he basically say we have already scnnned (MRI) that area (but yet it was scanned in 1/06 before this happened). I also just got my recent CT scans and it stated - Negative enhancing intracranial lesion. What is anything does that mean? Do I need to seek treatment by a Neuro for this pain and what could it possibly be?

Again thanks for all your help.

Thanks for your question.

Please clarify exactly what investigation you have done SINCE the symptoms you describe started.
What diagnosis have you received so far?
"...let the patient talk about their headache for at least 5 minutes without interruptions"

Hi, I really have done no searching. I guess I felt like I was at the mercy of the Dr. and now I tired of this so I am seeking outside advice.

The things I have been dx with : 1) Lung disease r/t chemo & rad; 2) mitral & tri regurg 3) Left aortic arch with right abarrent subclavian posterior to the esophagus 3) Coumadin Tx for life due to recurrent DVT (last one 1/2007) 4) Chronic Fatigue 4) Generalized Deconditioning and 5) Tension ha but that was a one time only dx nothing else was ever really said about it, I was given Nortryptiyne? But had some reaction to it within the 1st 2 days of taking it. 6) Have had Epstein Barr in the past.

I have asked repetively for Ct scans or a repeat MRI. I fell basically as tho I am ignored when I visit the Dr.ChemoJenny
