side effect of EEG?

side effect of EEG?I'm undergoing medical care for an unknown headache that doctors can't classify. Without going into my full story one thing sounds awfully strange and I've gotten no answer on it. I took an EEG and during the breathing exercise I strted to have muscle spasms and the probes felt like they were shocking me. I took it again and the same hospital, they recalobratede the machine to ensure it was grounded and I still felt the shocking sensation. I'm told that babies take the test and fall asleep after it. Why does it cause me pain, and why aren't the doctors telling me why. Thanks in advance if anyone can help me, I'm on the verge of seeking legal/congressional advice.
Re: side effect of EEG?During this portion of a routine EEG one hyperventilates causing oxygen and carbon dioxide to change their normal levels.
In fact, people also can hyperventilate in everyday situations, for example due to anxiety, causing possible numerous symptoms such as but not limited to, dizziness, numbness, tingling, lightheaded, shortness of breath, weakness, confusion, muscle spasms, chest discomfort, palpitations and even sleep disturbances, to name a few. The range of possible symptoms varies as each of our nervous systems are wired differently. Keep in mind that you were likely hyperventilating during this portion of the test.
