Lamictal XR

Question regarding Lamictal XR (extended release):

My Lamictal XR dosage is 250mg.
Are five 50 mg tablets comparable to one 50mg tablet plus two 100mg tablets? If I can do the dose all in the 50mg increments, I'll save an additional $50 co-pay. (if I have to do it by combining 100s and 50s, it costs me $50.00 for each size).
