Tolperisone

I have been diagnosed with PLS. I am aware of a new drug, tolperisone, that is being tested with spinal cord injury patients. It is supposed to be a replacement for baclofin. Can you tell me if tolperisone would be considered for PLS patients also?

I am unaware of any specific trials of Tolperisone in PLS, but it is very logical to think that a drug which reduces spasticity of the type that occurs in PLS may be beneficial in relieving some of the symptoms of PLS.

Of course, no kind of drug treatment should be taken without the express instruction of your treating physician.

Hope that helps
